The late Edward Vincenti Kind was very active and keenly imported an impressive diversity of products which included cosmetics, ladies’ shoes, household goods, radios and passenger cars.
Trading as Auto Sales Co., he mainly imported American cars such as Buicks, Chevrolets, etc. Together with the other car importers, Mr. Kind saw the automotive trade growing steadily up to the outbreak of the Second World War. Immediately after the end of the war, Mr. Kind was back in the import business and looking for other makes of cars; he successfully made business contacts with, first Renault of France and later with Daimler-Chrysler of Germany.
By this time, Mr. Kind’s son, the late Richard Vincenti Kind, having received his early training at the various firms represented by his father, came into the business and by 1953 he took over the running of Auto Sales Co., after having bought all the shares. In 1963, the company was formally registered with the registrar as Auto Sales Co. Ltd.
From 1953 to 1978, Auto Sales Ltd. was operating from premises in Gzira which were progressively becoming too small. By the early seventies, plans were initiated to construct a comprehensive complex to meet present and also foreseeable future requirements of the company’s activities. The premises at Lija were completed by 1979. Facing a recent restructuring, the premises now boasts of a thirty two working bay workshop, catering for mechanical electrical, car body repair and spray painting works. The workshop is backed by an efficient spare parts department carrying about 15,000 line items.

With the new investment, Mercedes-Benz, smart and Renault potential clients will benefit from new showrooms having state-of-the-art ambience and with dedicated brand areas. The new outlay which Auto Sales Limited offers, puts to light new standards both visually and with regard to content as per Principals’ guidelines.
All showrooms dedicated for Mercedes-Benz, smart and Renault vehicles do boast of a brighter and spacious environment in a whole new concept showroom.

After Mr. Richard Vincenti Kind’s premature demise in 1983, Mrs. A. Vincenti Kind together with her four daughters took over the company with the assistance of Mr. V. Soler who had been Mr. Kind’s assistant for over twenty years.
The company is today managed by a Board of Directors whose areas of responsibilities broadly include:

Mrs. K. Sammut
